You guys, this is my friend Kate. She’s a total babe. She flew in from Brooklyn to see Hamilton with me because she is obsessed with musicals. Also she’s really nice, and has one of those laughs that makes you laugh harder – you’d like her. We met at a wedding through our husbands and it was love at first sight, then we bonded over our mutual love of skincare, Alan Cummings and NYC. It was one of those immediate special friendships that you can only dream of finding in your adult life.
Anyway, Kate has the best style. Case and point below with this floral jumpsuit. I could never pull this off, but she is rocking it. I’m really loving florals for fall, (or actually all year round) as you could easily transition this with a great leather jacket and pumps. And that PARTY bag screams hand me that chips and salsa.

Now get out there and rock a jumpsuit!
Last weekend I was invited to spend the weekend in wine country, (for a bachelorette party) and we stayed in a house on top of a winery. What a view! Thank god no one fell down the cliff after all the pinot we had. It was amazing to see the sun rise and set over these mountains. Friday night we took the bachelorette out on the town. I had my go-to dress from Elizabeth and James (Similar Here and Here), so easy to travel with, it never wrinkles! And these shoes are on sale and the perfect heel height to wear all night. You guys, can we talk about how underrated bright green is? I feel like I can only find it on the cable knit sweater table, but I LOVE it for going out and the personally I think it looks great on everyone. Add in a geometric cut and an open back, and consider it mine. The great thing about the a bold green is accessories can be minimal – the green gets more than enough attention.
Please attribute my HUGE smile to the half bottle of champagne I had before taking these. I thought I looked “chill”, but… I was clearly wrong. I have recently become obsessed with backpacks. On the weekend it’s perfect to pop in your wallet, keys and take the dog (and bff) to brunch! Hands free, but still so stylish. It says: I am effortlessly chic but also ready for anything the day might bring. My co-workers swear by them going to and from the office, citing versatility. I picked out some of my favorite styles to hopefully inspire you.
THE SPRING NEUTRAL: Karen Walker Arrow Mini Backpack, $475. I just LOVE the color of this one, and it’s actually not that “mini”, so you can fit in more than some cash and a set of keys. The more I look at it the more I think: “treat yo’self”. It WAS just my birthday… Also comes in black and tan, but that BLUSH. Damn, girl.
I used to travel all the time for my job. Like, every. single. week. That’s enough to make you crazy. When you travel that much, you start to streamline to only the items you actually need to you know, TRAVEL. Now the #1 thing I pack every time I get on a plane is what I fondly refer to as my “Go Bag”. If someone were to call me right now, and say, “Get on a plane in 3 hours”, I would grab this bag, my phone, some Ruffles and hit the road. It’s never failed me. Check out my list below and let me know if you have any other good ideas I’m missing!
An actual bag: Because you need a bag in order for it to be a “go bag”. That’s just science.
If you’re like me, you love a “theme” for your makeup when it’s the holiday. You know, a green eye on St. Patty’s or a glitter lip for Christmas. The fourth of July is no exception to this bad habit of mine. BBQs, beers, and blue eyeliner! That’s America! (Or Britain even!) But, when using red, white, and blue: tread lightly, lest others think a box of Crayola exploded in the vicinity of your face. Here’s some July 4th makeup that’s pretty, not cheesy.
And the best part, you’re done in three steps, each more American than the last. So you can ramp up or down your red, white and blue vibes as you please. Isn’t that what freedom is all about? Continue reading
Nothing says glamour like metallic gold. Lucky for us, it also says “summer!” and “beach!” and “where’s the rosé?”. The latter of which, I am always asking. And the easiest way to bring your metallic game face (literally) to the party is with gold eyeliner. Sound like a lot of work? It’s not. You just swap gold for the brown or black you’d normally use. And even a thin line (if you want to play it safe) at the base of your lashes goes a long way. (I like a thicker line, so you can see it better!) No additional skill, time or effort required, but more compliments. YAS PLEASE! Here’s how to get the look :
