You guys, this is my friend Kate. She’s a total babe. She flew in from Brooklyn to see Hamilton with me because she is obsessed with musicals. Also she’s really nice, and has one of those laughs that makes you laugh harder – you’d like her. We met at a wedding through our husbands and it was love at first sight, then we bonded over our mutual love of skincare, Alan Cummings and NYC. It was one of those immediate special friendships that you can only dream of finding in your adult life.
Anyway, Kate has the best style. Case and point below with this floral jumpsuit. I could never pull this off, but she is rocking it. I’m really loving florals for fall, (or actually all year round) as you could easily transition this with a great leather jacket and pumps. And that PARTY bag screams hand me that chips and salsa.

I have recently become obsessed with backpacks. On the weekend it’s perfect to pop in your wallet, keys and take the dog (and bff) to brunch! Hands free, but still so stylish. It says: I am effortlessly chic but also ready for anything the day might bring. My co-workers swear by them going to and from the office, citing versatility. I picked out some of my favorite styles to hopefully inspire you.
THE SPRING NEUTRAL: Karen Walker Arrow Mini Backpack, $475. I just LOVE the color of this one, and it’s actually not that “mini”, so you can fit in more than some cash and a set of keys. The more I look at it the more I think: “treat yo’self”. It WAS just my birthday… Also comes in black and tan, but that BLUSH. Damn, girl.

Our East Coast friends got married in Maine last weekend so we flew on red-eye style across the country (don’t worry I had all the wine pre-flight, it was fine) to celebrate them. We had never been to a Maine wedding before so the question was, what to pack? When it’s a sleepy beach town, you want to be cute, but not rock 4 inch heels and lounge-worthy dresses, it just looks like you’re trying too hard. And nobody wants to be that girl.
On Friday we went to dinner and then met the wedding party post-rehearsal dinner. Since we knew it would be a low-key bar, and you walk everywhere in York Beach, I went with flats and a more casual dress. No sense in schlepping around in heels on cobblestones! I liked the long sleeves because it was chilly at night but still felt dressed up enough to fit with the rehearsal dinner crowd. Pink lips and hoops make it feel retro but modern.

The wedding was at the most adorable church in York Beach, Maine. I wanted something light and fun since the reception was at this gorgeous indoor/outdoor clambake venue, so went with a floral sheath and minimal jewelry. These nude strappys were a great investment. So comfortable (a whole nights’ worth of dancing included!) and they go with anything.
