You guys… it’s time to talk about Telluride again, and it only gets better in this incredible Colorado town. Check out the food and the fashion of Telluride (andmore on my insta: @thechampagnechic)The wedding was held at Schmid Ranch, on a remote hilltop outside of Telluride.
The couple brought in gorgeous sting lights, white tents, a dance floor, full blown catering, the glamorous wedding she-bang. Plus there was a 9-foot long cheese plate on every table so it was basically the best wedding ever. I would never joke about cheese. (ps If you want the smokey eye I have in these pics, check out my tutorial here. The whole look takes two minutes, believe it). And check out the back on this dress.

Friends! I did not know this before, but Telluride is where it’s AT. Did you know? Last weekend, our lovely friends got married at a ranch in the mountains, so all the guests stayed in Telluride. Even though it’s a tiny town (like, one street), there’s something in Telluride for everyone: great food, lively bars, boutique shopping, hikes, (so many hikes…), spas, and of course, skiing in winter (it was not winter in September, thank goodness). It’s one of the best weekend getaways I’ve been on with my husband (and of course, the 150 other guests, ha). I’m IN LOVE. Let’s talk about it.
First off. The place looks like THIS. Barely looks real.
The first night, the welcome party was at the historic bar, The New Sheridon. Most of it is the same as it was in 1800’s, including the tin ceilings. They serve food, but let’s be honest, tonight I’m here for the bar. More on the food tomorrow.

I couldn’t share my Chicago trip with you and not mention all the best beauty spots! Have you met me? Even if you’re just in town for the weekend, I recommend you find an hour and check out one of the below places. Basically I’ve made you my ride or die beauty checklist in Chicago. The Flywheel class is the best solution to the food from this post. Ps my Insta is live! Check out @thechampagnechic, and tell me what you think!
Arch Apothecary: Consider this place your own personal glam squad. They do makeup application, blowouts, eyebrows, waxing, updos (if you’re feeling fancy)… you name it. I’ve been here dozens of times since it was steps from my old apartment and the entire staff is super nice and just as important, excellent at what they do. Head in with your bff before a night out or for just a little pick-me-up mid-week.

I lived in Chicago for years before moving to San Francisco, and I miss it so much (only the summertime, of course, I’m not a lunatic). The absolute best part is the FOOD. There are so many amazing restaurants and chefs that set up shop there, you can gain 10 pounds in a week! You know, not like it’s happened to me personally… it’s just a hypothetical! Anyway, I was there last week and thought I’d share some of my favorite places (not necessarily the highest rated by foodie professionals or the most expensive, just places I loved to frequent) when I lived there.
Three Arts Club Cafe at Restoration Hardware. Pro tip: they open at 10am and don’t take reservations, so plan to get there by 9:30am and wait in line if you want first seating. Otherwise, show up when you can, but expect 1-2 hour wait on the weekend. The good news about the wait: JUST LOOK AT THIS ROOFTOP. You can get a drink from the bar, snag a free donut and hang out until they text that your table is ready. The restaurant is in the Atrium of the building. Gorgeous light, trees and a fountain fill the space. They have these huge comfy cushioned booths that make you feel like a celebrity. Get one of those. You guys, this is my friend Kate. She’s a total babe. She flew in from Brooklyn to see Hamilton with me because she is obsessed with musicals. Also she’s really nice, and has one of those laughs that makes you laugh harder – you’d like her. We met at a wedding through our husbands and it was love at first sight, then we bonded over our mutual love of skincare, Alan Cummings and NYC. It was one of those immediate special friendships that you can only dream of finding in your adult life.
Anyway, Kate has the best style. Case and point below with this floral jumpsuit. I could never pull this off, but she is rocking it. I’m really loving florals for fall, (or actually all year round) as you could easily transition this with a great leather jacket and pumps. And that PARTY bag screams hand me that chips and salsa.

What to do when you have no plans and a small pomeranian on a Sunday? Duh, patio brunch! We’ve been dying to try Zazie, a quaint French restaurant that’s a Cole Valley staple. There is always a wait and every time we go, we give up immediately when we see the line, because obviously we are already hangry and need food to stay married. This time we went right when they opened and only had to wait about 45 minutes, during which time I fantasized about snatching food from people’s greedy little fingers and running away into the sunrise with Roxie. BUT, I didn’t and you GUYS! it was totally worth acting like an adult. Check out that Pain de Mie French Toast and that Eggs Vincent. It tasted even better than it looked.
What’s great about this place is how they treat their employees. It’s not a tip-based serving job. All of the menu prices include a living wage, revenue share, paid family leave, fully funded health & dental insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) with employer match for all employees. All those things!! Having been a long-time server, I LOVE knowing that waitstaff is taken care of. It makes a giant cafe latte even more enjoyable (no handle! you sip it from a soup bowl). Now, on to the food.

Last weekend I was invited to spend the weekend in wine country, (for a bachelorette party) and we stayed in a house on top of a winery. What a view! Thank god no one fell down the cliff after all the pinot we had. It was amazing to see the sun rise and set over these mountains. Friday night we took the bachelorette out on the town. I had my go-to dress from Elizabeth and James (Similar Here and Here), so easy to travel with, it never wrinkles! And these shoes are on sale and the perfect heel height to wear all night.
