Zara is so hit or miss for me. Sometimes I can’t even find a single t-shirt that works. On the flip side, when I want one thing, I want EVERYTHING. I took a peek at the new fall season and it’s sooooo gooooood. To save you the time, I spent my Sunday night combing through their website for the very best finds (I find it therapeutic, really). My must haves below, get ready to swoon.
1: Black V-Neck Jacket, $79: So classic glam. Worn with a lace cami, totally work appropriate, without… Friday night here we come.
2: Kitten Heel Mules with Bow, $39: Kitten heels and bows and slides, oh my! Continue reading “10 Fall Fashion Finds From Zara”
You guys, this is my friend Kate. She’s a total babe. She flew in from Brooklyn to see Hamilton with me because she is obsessed with musicals. Also she’s really nice, and has one of those laughs that makes you laugh harder – you’d like her. We met at a wedding through our husbands and it was love at first sight, then we bonded over our mutual love of skincare, Alan Cummings and NYC. It was one of those immediate special friendships that you can only dream of finding in your adult life.
Anyway, Kate has the best style. Case and point below with this floral jumpsuit. I could never pull this off, but she is rocking it. I’m really loving florals for fall, (or actually all year round) as you could easily transition this with a great leather jacket and pumps. And that PARTY bag screams hand me that chips and salsa.

I know what you might be thinking. I’m too old for hi-waisted jeans! I have kids, a corporate job, a mortgage… NO! Anyway, I will tell you right now that I felt the same way, Until I tried those forbidden high-waisted pants. And now it’s SO ON. High-waisted jeans in my 30’s people. They have changed my life. It’s literally like a comfortable corset. Case and point here. I tried on this shirt with medium/low rise jeans and it looks TERRIBLE. High-rise and voila I feel like a fancy celeb. Listen to me, like you’ve never listened before: get a pair, live your dreams.

There may only be one month of summer left, but that isn’t going to stop us from squeezing every last drop out of it. By now you are one of two people: 1) You have worn your current suits so much they are faded or stretched, 2) You never even bought a suit and/or haven’t hit the pool yet this year (say it ain’t so!!!). For both of you, I found a great range of must-have suits to keep the summer love going. The good news: a lot of them are, or will be, on “end of season” sale! Just remember 30+SPF facial sunscreen or a straw hat to keep that gorgeous face young and healthy (no wrinkles ’round here!)
L Space Farrah Bikini, $96: I love this suit! I have done everything from lounging to snorkeling to paddle boarding in this style. Good to have in the vacation rotation. But note the bottoms are cut slightly high in the back and the top is not adjustable, so keep that in mind for sizing. Continue reading “7 Swimsuits You Need Before Summer Ends”
I bet you have a casual army green jacket just waiting until the weekend to live it’s life with your jeans and t-shirts. But I’m here to tell you an army green jacket is the new black blazer, so put it to work. Add a bright dress, a belt, and voila!, work-wear. Bright colors = army greens’ best friends. I love purple (below), red and also pink. This look is great for smothering humidity (you feel me Chicago?): you can ride transit to work in a sleeveless dress and then throw on the jacket when for the zero degree air-conditioning. (Did you know the temperature in offices is is based on a 40-year-old man weighing about 154 pounds.) Don’t even get me started on that.
I am totally obsessed with the possibility of this jacket so you’ll definitely see it again.

We’d all agree that a t-shirt and jeans is a classic it girl look, but if you have a semi-corporate job, you probably feel a little too casual wearing a graphic tee to the office. But, you say, I love my tees and want to wear them always. Well, good news. Mixed with more “traditional” work pieces, t-shirts don’t have to be only for the weekend. This is one of my favorite tricks inspired by a stranger I saw in SF rocking an old Doors t-shirt in a full white pantsuit. (She was truly a style goddess.) Speaking of pants, it works to swap the skirt for high-waisted jeans too.

Last night I was up at 1am helping a friend look for her rehearsal dinner dress. She didn’t actually ask me to help, but I got too excited and and then didn’t stop texting her dress options from shopbop for days. But it got me thinking, for a bride (like her, and myself) who doesn’t trust wearing white around red wine, (or just doesn’t want to buy another white dress she won’t wear again), what are the options for a rehearsal dinner! The answer – color and/or texture. I personally wore a tight, navy cut out dress that was probably said “give me that sangria” and not “sweet young bride”, but I felt 100% myself and the unique neckline slayed in pics. BUT BONUS, if you are not getting married, these are all great options for being a guest too (obviously, since none of them are white!). Enjoy!
1. Nicholas Bellflower, $675: STUNNING. I want this dress, but probably best for those with a smaller chest. Also seems comfortable for dancing – the range of motion with that skirt is tops.
